Four game modes, each available for Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, Oceania and the world. Choose a topic to practise, then your region.

How can you practise geography with quizzes?

  1. Start with one region

Choose a continent to limit the countries you need to practise. The quiz page offers a short round to get started; the full selection is also available before you begin.

  2. Look for landmarks on the globe

Rotate the globe and zoom in before answering. Connect a country’s shape to a coast, an island or a neighbour: these landmarks can help you find it from another angle.

  3. Vary what you need to recall

After practising locations, try flags or capitals in the same region. To practise recall without a suggested name, try naming countries from memory, then expand to the world.

Questions about geography quizzes

Is the geography quiz free?

You are given a capital’s name and select its country’s territory on the 3D globe. For example, Paris means France. The quiz does not ask you to place the city on the map.

No. You can type the names. Voice input is optional when your browser supports it and you grant microphone permission.

Can you play on a phone?

Yes, using a browser that supports JavaScript and WebGL. Tap the country to answer in the location, flags and capitals modes. Rotate the globe and zoom in to target small territories.
