This mode highlights one country at a time on a 3D globe and asks you to pick its name from a short list. The list shuffles every round so memorising positions does not help — you actually have to know which one is which. The quiz starts with the larger and more familiar nations (Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya) and gradually moves to the smaller West African states and the island nations off the eastern coast. Expect to learn a handful of names you had never noticed before.

Egypt, Sudan, Algeria and Libya in the north; Nigeria and South Africa as anchors. Locate these first, then identify neighbours by relative position.
Group by region
Memorise countries in clusters: West Africa, the Sahel, the Horn, Central Africa, Southern Africa. Each cluster has at most ten members.
Don't skip the islands
Cape Verde, São Tomé, Comoros, Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar — six island nations are easy to forget when you focus on the mainland.
Watch the look-alike pairs
Niger borders Nigeria, the Republic of the Congo borders the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan and South Sudan split in 2011, and three Guineas (Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea) sit on the same coast. Mauritania is a Saharan giant; Mauritius is a tiny island east of Madagascar. The shuffled list often places these pairs side by side to test how carefully you read.

Why 54 countries?
We use the common count of 54 African states. Depending on the reference and display, special-status territories such as Western Sahara or Somaliland may appear separately. If you count differently at home, the total can vary by one or two.
Does the quiz include capitals?
No, this mode is purely about country identification. For capitals, see the click-capital mode in the menu.
Can I focus only on one sub-region?

Do I need a microphone for this mode?
