Tips to play better

• Recall one region at a time

  Try Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania as separate groups. The world game lets you choose your answer order, so you can finish a familiar group before moving to another.

• Have complete country names ready

  Kyrgyzstan, Djibouti, Côte d’Ivoire, Liechtenstein, Eswatini and São Tomé and Príncipe are useful names to practise. If you prefer to play quietly or voice recognition misses the name, type it with the keyboard.

• Use neighbours as a memory aid

  Think of countries you associate with a name you have already entered. This can help you recall another answer without needing a highlighted country or a fixed sequence of prompts.

• Move on after a repeated answer

  A country already found cannot be counted twice. If the same name is rejected after a successful match, try a different country from the current selection. For a missed voice match, you can switch to the keyboard.
